Our desire is to be found faithful to “The Great Commission” Jesus left the church:

“Therefore, as you go, disciple all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you each and every day until the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20 ISV)

--- Our Pastor

“We here at Mount Olive are Connecting our Community with Christ and His Kingdom”

     Pastor Kirby Ownby
Pastor Kirby is a native Tennesseean from the Cleveland and Chattanooga areas.  He is extremely blessed to call Libby his wife, and together they spend their time chasing after two of God’s greatest blessings, their boys, Ethan and Kaden.  While serving in the local church, Kirby had the great privilege of teaching both Greek and Latin in different schools in Kentucky and Tennessee.  Kirby’s passions in ministry are preaching, teaching, visiting with church members, and international missions.  When not at the church, you will find Pastor Kirby in the Smoky Mountains, taking his boys fishing or hiking, and enjoying the local shooting range.  Kirby holds a B.A. in Religion and Latin from Samford University, and a M.Div from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Pastor Kirby came to Mount Olive in June of 2017.
