"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8
The Acts 1:8 Challenge for Southern Baptist Churches was officially launched in May 2004. This challenge is a call for Southern Baptist Churches to move to a new level of missions involvement by cooperating with their local Baptist associations, their state conventions, the North American Mission Board (NAMB) and International Mission Board (IMB).
As part of the Acts 1:8 Challenge, pastors or mission leaders are encouraged to make their formal commitment to implement a church-wide missions strategy by registering their church. These churches commit to eight "Kingdom-growing" responses as they work to intentionally carry the Acts 1:8 to prepare, learn, pray, give, go, tell, send and multiply.
Mount Olive Baptist Church has been a part of the Acts 1:8 Challenge for some time. During this program, there have been many mission trips, here and abroad, which has brought the life-saving Gospel to hungry ears. More trips are planned for next year.
Will you be a part of this mission effort? Will you be involved in Engaging our Culture for Christ?
Ever wondered where your missions money went? Mount Olive Baptist Church is a giving church and through tithes and offerings, we give toward the Cooperative Program in order to help other nations hear the Gospel.
